Configuring Synology DNS as a secondary Server is a simple operation. Simply put there are built-in and downloadable Apps that further extend the functionalities of these NAS boxes. Synology DSM 5.1 now has a built-in DNS-O-Matic DDNS connector. I created a no-ip.com account, for my public ip address (see pic_noip.jpg) I created a DNS-O-Matic account, with only the no-ip service ; i'll add OpenDNS later. (see pic_dnsomatic.png) From DSM 5.1, I'm able to directly use no-ip.com as a DDNS service (see pic_synology_noip_OK.png) Try opening up the DNS application (DNS Manager) on your DC. If it opens traverse to Forward Lookup Zones and your domain name, you should see other A records. First of all, I click to en Synology Package Center and installed a package call ‘DNS server’. After that I entered the settings page for the DNS server and activated it as well as activated forwarding to Googles DNS servers. Here you can enter anyones you want. I find Google’s fast and reliable. And then I adjusted some of the size settings.
